The Millett Creamery is based on a facility built by M.C. Millett, an entrepreneur who worked in concert with the Rutland Railroad during a period of expansion. The Rutland RR covered all of Northern New England and New York. Much of its revenue was derived from moving dairy products south to New York City. Located in Ellenburg, New York, this building was one of many built by Millett. The Ellenburg creamery was surely one of the most interesting and unique of the hundreds of creameries that once dotted the landscape.
